SUBJECT: THOUSAND OAKS ANTI-NUDITY ORDINANCE

Attention: Naturists in Ventura County, California

The Naturist Action Committee advises naturist residents of 
Ventura County, California, to be aware of a new anti-nudity 
ordinance scheduled to be considered by the city council of 
Thousand Oaks.

The ordinance will be introduced at the regular meeting of the 
Thousand Oaks city council, which begins at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, 
December 12, 2000. This is just the introduction; no action is 
recommended or anticipated at this point.

A companion measure has been drafted to deal with sexually 
oriented businesses, and that proposed ordinance will be assigned 
to the Planning Commission at the same meeting.

The two measures are related to similar proposals in the nearby 
city of Simi Valley.

This communication from NAC is an Advisory, intended to make you 
aware of the situation. Following the December 12 council meeting, 
the Naturist Action Committee will be issuing a NAC Action Alert, 
asking you to take specific steps to oppose the ordinance. The 
next meeting of the Thousand Oaks city council will be December 
19, 2000.
